Privacy Policy

How we handle your information when you contact us or use this website. Written in plain English, and describing what actually happens rather than what a template says.

Last updated: 6 August 2026

1. Who we are

Fly Tyres Ltd(“we”, “us”, “our”) provides mobile tyre fitting and operates tyre centres in Chesham and Aylesbury. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

Fly Tyres Chesham: 72 Broad Street, Chesham, HP5 3DX
Fly Tyres Aylesbury: 11 Ruskin Way, Aylesbury, HP20 2EL
Privacy contact: flytyreschesham@gmail.com
Telephone: 07384 202666

This policy applies to this website, flytyre.co.uk, and to the enquiries we receive through it. It should be read alongside any other notice we give you at the time we collect your information.

This website is intended for adults arranging work on a vehicle. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.

2. Information we collect

When you request a quote

The quote form asks for the following. Only your name, telephone number and postcode are required. Everything else is optional and the form works without it.

  • Your name
  • Your telephone number
  • The postcode where the vehicle is
  • Your email address, if you give one
  • Vehicle details: registration, make and model, tyre size and how many tyres are needed
  • What has happened: the service you need, how urgently, and any description you write
  • How you would prefer us to reply
  • Which branch you chose, so the enquiry reaches the right shop

We ask for the registration so we can work out your tyre size before we set off. It is read by a person. Nothing is looked up automatically, and no decision affecting you is made by automated means.

If you attach a photograph, it stays on your own device. Photographs are shown back to you and are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. If we later enable photograph uploads, any image you send will be used only to assess and answer your enquiry, and this policy will be updated before that change goes live.

When you call, message or email us

If you telephone, send a WhatsApp message or email us, we receive whatever you choose to tell us. That is typically your name, number, location and what has gone wrong with the vehicle. WhatsApp messages are delivered through WhatsApp’s own service and are subject to their privacy terms as well as this policy.

When you use the on-site assistant

The assistant answers common questions about our services, hours and coverage. What you type into it stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us or to any third party.

Where you choose to send us an enquiry, by any route on this website including the assistant, the information in that enquiry is handled in the same way as a quote form enquiry and is covered by sections 3 to 7 of this policy. Please do not use the assistant to send information you would not want us to hold, and do not rely on it in an emergency. If the matter is urgent, please telephone 07384 202666.

Automatically, if you allow it

If, and only if, you press “Allow” on the cookie banner, Google Analytics records how the website is used: pages viewed, how far you scroll, and which buttons are pressed. See section 7.

What we never collect

We do not ask for payment card details anywhere on this website, and we do not buy personal data from anyone. We do not run advertising pixels from any company other than Google, and the Google advertising measurement described below runs only if you allow it.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

What we use it forLawful basis under UK GDPR
Replying to your enquiry, quoting a price and arranging a visit or appointmentArticle 6(1)(b): steps taken at your request before entering into a contract
Carrying out the work and dealing with anything arising from itArticle 6(1)(b): performance of a contract
Keeping records of work carried out, for tax and accountingArticle 6(1)(c): legal obligation
Keeping our records accurate, preventing and investigating fraud or misuse of this website, and establishing, exercising or defending legal claimsArticle 6(1)(f): our legitimate interests in running the business safely and protecting our legal position
Understanding how the website is usedArticle 6(1)(a): your consent, which you can withdraw at any time

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered whether that use is fair to you and whether you would reasonably expect it. You can object at any time using the contact details in section 1, and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds to continue.

We do not send marketing. Your details are used to deal with your enquiry and the work that follows from it. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we will not sell or rent your information to anyone.

4. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it, and then delete it. In practice that means:

WhatHow long
An enquiry that does not lead to work being carried out30 days after we have finished dealing with it, then deleted
A job we have carried out, including the invoice and what was fittedSix years from the end of the tax year the work was done in
Emails and messages between usAs long as the matter is live, then in line with the two periods above

Six years reflects how long HMRC requires business records to be kept and the period during which a claim relating to the work could normally be brought. It protects you as much as us: if a tyre we fitted is questioned three years later, the record still exists.

We may keep information for longer where it is reasonably necessary to meet a legal or regulatory obligation, to deal with a complaint, to prevent or investigate fraud, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Where we do, we keep only what is needed for that purpose and delete the rest.

5. Who else sees your information

Only the people and the service providers who need to. Access within Fly Tyres is limited to those dealing with your enquiry or the work that follows from it.

We use carefully selected suppliers to operate this website and deliver enquiries to us. They act on our written instructions, may use your information only for the purpose we have given them, are required to keep it secure and confidential, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. These arrangements are governed by contracts that meet the requirements of Article 28 of the UK GDPR.

  • Website hosting. Our hosting provider’s servers handle the requests your browser makes, as with any website.
  • Enquiry delivery. A specialist email delivery provider transmits quote enquiries from this website to our inbox, and sends you a confirmation where you have given an email address.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics, and only if you have allowed analytics cookies. No information identifying you is sent to Google. See section 7.

We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, by a court, or by a regulator or other public authority acting within its powers, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property or safety or those of our customers or staff.

If our business or part of it is sold or transferred, information may pass to the buyer, who would be required to continue to protect it in line with this policy.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of our providers process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards recognised by UK data protection law are in place. That means the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations, by the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, or by another lawful transfer mechanism.

If you decline analytics cookies, no transfer to Google takes place at all.

6. How we protect it

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. These include:

  • The whole website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and enquiries are transmitted over encrypted connections.
  • We ask only for what a tyre call-out actually needs. The less we hold, the less there is to lose.
  • Access to enquiries is restricted to authorised people at Fly Tyres who need it to do their job.
  • Spam is filtered using a hidden form field rather than a third-party service, so no outside party inspects what you submit.
  • Our suppliers are chosen with their security arrangements in mind and are bound by contract, as described in section 5.

No website, email system or method of electronic storage can be made completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. What we can say is that we take it seriously, we review these measures, and if a breach occurs that is likely to present a risk to you we will act on it and notify you and the Information Commissioner’s Office where the law requires.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website sets no analytics or advertising cookie unless you allow it. On your first visit a banner asks about each separately, and you can allow one and refuse the other. If you decline, or ignore it, Google’s code is never downloaded, no analytics cookie is set, and nothing about your visit is recorded. The website works in exactly the same way either way. The one cookie set regardless is the banner’s own record of your answer, described below — without it you would be asked again on every page.

This website uses two kinds of optional cookie, both from Google: analytics, and advertising measurement. We use no social media cookies, we do not allow any other organisation to advertise through this site, and we do not use these cookies to build a profile of you or to show you adverts elsewhere on the internet. The advertising cookies answer one question for the business: whether a Google advert is what brought you here.

The consent banner is the Silktide Consent Manager. It records your answer so the site can honour it, by storing your choice on your own device. ⚠️ It does not send that choice anywhere: unlike the service used previously, there is no consent record kept on anyone else’s servers, and no account tied to your visit. The banner’s code is loaded from a public code distribution network, jsDelivr, which therefore sees the request for that file.

If you allow advertising measurement

Fly Tyres advertises on Google. If you allow advertising cookies, Google can tell the business that a click on one of those adverts led to an enquiry or a phone call — which is how they judge whether the advertising is worth paying for.

Nothing you type into a form is ever sent to Google. Not your name, your phone number, your email address, your postcode or your registration. Google is told that an enquiry happened. It is told nothing about who made it or what it was for.

If you refuse, no advertising cookie is set and nothing follows you. Google is still told that an enquiry happened, as an anonymous count that cannot be linked to you, to your visit or to an advert. The business learns that enquiries are arriving; it does not learn which advertising produced them, and it learns nothing about you.

If you allow analytics

Google Analytics is loaded and sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_<code>. They hold a randomly generated number that distinguishes one browser from another so that repeat visits are not counted twice, and they expire after two years. We use this to see which pages help people and which do not.

What is never sent to Google

Nothing you type. Your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, vehicle registration, the description of what has happened, and anything you say to the assistant are not sent to Google Analytics. When you send an enquiry, what is recorded is that an enquiry was sent and which service it concerned, not who sent it.

Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settingslink in the footer of every page. It re-opens the same banner you saw on your first visit. If you withdraw consent, the analytics cookies are removed from your device and Google’s code stops being loaded. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything lawfully done before you withdrew it.

  • Your cookie choice. Set by the consent banner to remember what you chose, so you are not asked again on every page. This is the one cookie set regardless of your answer, because without it there is nowhere to record the answer.
  • _ga and _ga_<code>, only if you allow analytics. Set by Google Analytics, they hold a randomly generated number that tells one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted twice, and they expire after two years.
  • _gcl_<code>, only if you allow advertising. Set by Google Ads, it records that you arrived from one of our adverts so the business can tell which advertising actually brings people here. It holds no name, address or contact details, and it expires after ninety days.

That is the complete list. There are no social media cookies, and no organisation other than Google sets a cookie through this site.

Storage that is not a cookie

One small value in your browser’s session storage records that you have already seen the short opening animation, so it is not replayed on every page. It holds no personal information, it is never sent anywhere, and it is cleared when you close the tab or clear your browser data.

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access, and ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
  • Rectification, and have anything inaccurate corrected or incomplete information completed
  • Erasure, and ask us to delete information where we have no continuing reason to keep it
  • Restriction, and ask us to pause using it while a question about it is resolved
  • Objection, and object to use we base on our legitimate interests
  • Portability, and receive information you gave us in a commonly used, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent. Withdrawing analytics consent takes one click, in the footer of any page.

These rights are not absolute. Some of them apply only in certain circumstances, and we may need to keep information where the law requires it or where we need it to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. If we cannot do what you have asked, we will explain why.

To exercise any of these, email flytyreschesham@gmail.com or ring 07384 202666. We may ask you for enough information to confirm who you are, so that we do not disclose your details to somebody else. We will respond within one month. If a request is particularly complex we may extend that by up to two further months, and we will tell you if we need to. There is normally no charge, although the law allows us to charge a reasonable fee or to decline where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

9. Your responsibilities

Please make sure the information you give us is accurate and up to date, particularly your telephone number and the postcode where the vehicle is. We rely on it to reach you and to send a van to the right place, and we cannot be responsible for a delay or a failed visit caused by details that were wrong or out of date.

If you give us information about somebody else, for example when you are arranging work on another person’s vehicle, please make sure they are content for you to do so and let them know about this policy.

10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. We would rather put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention. Please check this page from time to time. This policy was last updated on 6 August 2026.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any obligation we have under the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 or any other applicable law, or any right you have that cannot be limited by agreement. This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from it.
